Ever tried to call a company lately?
You usually end up trapped in an endless loop of automated robots and frustrating chat boxes.
But when you are buying a home—probably the most expensive and important thing you will ever do—the last thing you need is a company hiding behind an email address.
You need a friendly, human voice.
At Charters-Reid, we do things differently.
Fully Qualified. Totally Down-to-Earth.
Let’s get the credentials out of the way first. Between us, our practice has 250 years of joint experience. We are fully qualified, RICS-accredited, and we know buildings inside and out. Our founder, Jon Charters-Reid, actually started his career as an apprentice joiner at York Minster.
We aren’t guessing; we know how properties are put together from the ground up.
But having letters after your name shouldn’t mean you cannot talk to people.
We don’t do stuffy corporate jargon.
We don’t write reports in confusing language just to look clever, leaving you to guess what we actually mean.
We are down-to-earth Yorkshire folk who tell it like it is.
You Can Actually Ring Us Up
Here is our approach: We have phones, and we actually answer them.
When we finish a survey on your potential new home, we don’t just email over a massive PDF and wish you luck. We pick up the phone. We talk to you.
We do a thorough phone call to explain exactly what we found in plain, reassuring English.
If there is a bit of damp, we tell you how serious it actually is. If there is a structural issue, we explain how to get it fixed. If the house is in great shape, we give you the green light and total peace of mind.
Making Your Move Less Stressful
Buying a house is a big journey. It can keep you awake at night, and it comes with plenty of natural stress.
Having a surveyor you can actually call, question, and chat with makes all the difference to your house purchase. It takes the blind panic out of the process. It protects your hard-earned money, and it lets you breathe a little easier.
In a world where it feels harder and harder to get a real person on the line… you can always ring us.
